GET A GRIP Studio is an expert screen printers, specialising in the highest quality screen printing on a wide range of substrates since 2009.

Using purely 100% water based inks allows us to achieve some of the softest, most comfortable and durable prints possible without compromising our environmental ethics and social responsibility.  Our extremely high standards and attention to detail has meant that the majority of our print work is for the retail industry, but we also love to print for bands, charities, clubs, promoters and more.

Our studio, based in Stirchley, Birmingham, runs on 100% renewable energy and is currently working towards becoming Carbon Neutral.

We will print a wide range of apparel and substrates including; T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, tote bags, active wear, art prints, wedding stationery, posters, note books, yoga mats and packaging from as little as 10 items and from one to six ink colours.  We’re always up for challenges, so if you want to commission something you can't see on our website, please do not hesitate to ask us.

A Brief History of Get A Grip Studio

In 2006 Get A Grip co-founder Sam started an environmentally friendly clothing brand, Huk Apparel. After struggling to find an environmentally friendly screen printer, when he did, although the prints were good, the price was high and service left something to be desired.

In 2007 Sam founded Eco-Merch LTD, an environmentally friendly screen printing services supplying only organic cotton and other sustainable garments and printing with 100% waterbased inks.

Meanwhile, Kay had been developing her brand and print service, Cut-Out Shop, out of her garage in Wolverhampton. Again using only waterbased inks.

They met through Kay's shared shop in the Custard Factory, Birmingham in 2009. After discovering they shared the same ideas and brand aesthetics, they started Get A Grip Studio in 2009.

In 2012, Kay left to move south and now co-runs a record label in Exeter.

Sam was joined by Lucy in 2014, incorporating the company as Sustainable Supply Ltd, but still trading as Get A Grip Studio.

In 2017 Get A Grip (as a trading name of Sustainable Supply Ltd) became an organic certified screen printers, certified by the Soil Association to the Global Organic Textile Standards.
